The Dunes course in Costa Navarino, inaugurated in 2010 and designed by Bernhard Langer with European Golf Design, is the first signature course in Greece. Located by the sea, it combines the ambiance of traditional links with a typical Greek landscape of olive and citrus groves.

Ross McMurray, lead designer, emphasizes that this course offers a perfect balance between accessibility for average players and challenge for experienced golfers. The wide fairways and complex greens, divided into plateaus, require precision and strategy, especially with the frequent wind.

Each hole has its character, from the short drivable par 4 to the long demanding par 4, through technical par 3s and strategic par 5s, offering a varied and memorable course.

• The Bay Course: located approximately 15 minutes by shuttle from your hotel

Just 10 km south of The Dunes course, The Bay Course was opened late 2011, consolidating the reputation of Costa Navarino as one of the golf hotspots in Greece. Designed by Robert Trent Jones Jr., this 18-hole course blends harmoniously into the natural landscape of the region.

Its layout meanders between green olive groves, rocky gorges and shores of the Ionian Sea, offering striking views, notably over the historic bay of Navarino. Two holes run directly along the coast, bringing a spectacular dimension to the game. The course, a true work of landscape art, reflects the elegance and nobility of ancient Greek aesthetics, as described by its architect: “Sculpted from Greek earth, like the marble statues of the ancient gods. »

• The Hills Course: located approximately 20 minutes by shuttle from your hotel

In 2022, the golf offer will be enriched with two new 18-hole courses on the Navarino Hills site, located just southeast of Navarino Bay. All 36 holes were designed by two-time Masters winner and Ryder Cup legend José María Olazábal, with his Olazábal Design team.

Among them, the Hills Course has a par 72 over a total distance of 6,251 meters from the white tees. The most striking holes are the 5th hole, a par 3 of 132 meters, the shortest but also one of the most aesthetic, and the formidable 6th hole, a long par 6 considered the most difficult of the outward leg.

• International Olympic Academy Golf Course (IOAC): located approximately 20 minutes by shuttle from your hotel

Stretching over 6,366m of rugged terrain, these courses offer panoramic views of the surrounding countryside and the historic bay of Navarino, scene of a decisive naval battle in 1827 which sealed Greek independence.

“The Navarino Hills site is one of the most spectacular I have ever seen,” says Olazábal. “The characteristics of the land are perfect for golf and this area is among the most beautiful where I have had the chance to work.” “The International Olympic Academy is the longer and more demanding of the two courses I designed. It is more compact and differs from the Hills, located in a valley offering more space, especially at the start.

The new clubhouse, designed by renowned architect Lubomír Zeman, built in local stone, serves both courses from a central location.
