The journey & its history
Founded in 1890, the club takes its name from its former access… only possible by boat, which reinforced its exclusive atmosphere. Since then, the layout has been subtly remodeled by Fred Hawtree, Eddie Hackett and more recently Jeff Howes, while preserving the spirit of traditional links.

A unique environment
Surrounded by spectacular dunes and seascapes, The Island is a course where nature dictates the game. In summer, the song of the lark – the club’s emblem – accompanies golfers on the fairways. The wind, natural vegetation, deep bunkers and strategic greens offer a challenge as sublime as it is formidable.
