The route in detail
The club was founded on November 27, 1994 by a group of golf enthusiasts wishing to develop a course on these former agricultural lands. Construction work on the course began in 1993, and the Setbergsvöllur course was officially opened on June 23, 1995, along with the clubhouse.
The course was developed from the old fields of the Setberg farm: some areas of the old pastures were integrated into the fairways, while the majority of greens and tees had to be completely built to create the current course. This development work made it possible to transform these agricultural lands into a real golf course while preserving the natural character of the site.

Setting & Location
Today, Setbergsvöllur is an 18-hole par 72 course, designed from a layout of 9 holes played twice with different tees, which modifies the configuration of the game between the outward journey and the return leg. The course extends for approximately 5.6 kilometers and offers an accessible but varied challenge for players.
Thanks to its location close to Reykjavík and its calm natural setting, the Setberg Golf Course is today a popular course for golfers in the region, offering an authentic playing experience in an environment shaped both by the agricultural history of the site and by the development of golf in Iceland.
