The course & its setting
Founded in 1990 as a 9-hole course, the club was designed by Icelandic architect Hannes Þorsteinsson. Faced with its growing success, the course was enlarged to become an 18 hole in 1997, giving rise to the current layout named Urriðavöllur.
The championship course Urriðavöllur is a par 71 of approximately 5,859 meters, recognized for its demanding and strategic layout. It is distinguished by its heathland style, characterized by open and natural fairways, surrounded by lava fields from the dormant volcano Búrfell volcano. This volcanic landscape gives the terrain a unique character, where precision in play is essential.

Setting & Location
The club also has a second course, Ljúflingur, a 9 hole par 3 intended for training and for players wishing to learn golf. Thanks to its comprehensive facilities and the quality of its main course, the club regularly hosts national and international competitions, including the European Ladies’ Amateur Team Championshipin 2016.
Today, the Oddur Golf Club is considered one of the best courses in the country. Located in the heart of a moorland landscape bordered by lava and wild nature, it offers a typically Icelandic golfing experience, combining sporting challenge and immersion in a spectacular natural environment.
