Nestled in the old market town of Crail, close to St Andrews, Balcomie Links is one of Scotland's most precious golfing treasures. Steeped in history and traditions, this course is the heir to a prestigious past: the Crail Golfing Society, founded in 1786, is one of the oldest golf clubs in the world, at a time when only six others existed.

The route in detail
Located at the eastern edge of the Kingdom of Fife, on a promontory known as Fife Ness, Balcomie retains most of its original layout, designed by the legendary Tom Morris of St Andrews. In 1895, he designed the first nine holes, before adding a second nine in 1899, thus offering a course that has stood the test of time.
