Cinnamon Hill Golf Course
A PAR 71 between sea winds and colonial remains
Nestled on the historic Rose Hall Estate, right next to the famous White Witch Course, Cinnamon Hill is a true gem for golf and history lovers. Initially designed in the 1970s by Henry Smedley, this 18-hole course, par 71 and stretching over 6,069m, was completely renovated in 2002 by the team of Robert von Hagge, Michael Smelek and Rick Baril, who breathed new life into it while retaining its unique character.

The journey & its history
The layout unfolds over hilly and uneven terrain, offering fairways often swept by the winds coming from the Caribbean Sea, which borders several holes on the course. The front nine, open and exposed, contrasts with the narrower and more technical rear nine, bordered by dense vegetation and punctuated with fascinating historical remains, such as stone walls, funerary monuments, and above all an impressive ancient aqueduct which recalls the history of this former sugar plantation.
A unique environment
The emblematic hole of the course is undoubtedly the par 4 n°5, nicknamed “Majestic Blue”. This hole, classified as stroke index 1, is often played like a par 5 because of the powerful winds which can come from several directions. The trajectory descends towards the sea with a green protected on three sides by impressive natural obstacles: the ocean and white sand bunkers. This spectacular challenge offers golfers a memorable experience, combining natural beauty and technicality.
Cinnamon Hill is therefore a course that harmoniously combines history, nature and high-level golf. Its unique atmosphere, its exceptional setting facing the Caribbean Sea, as well as its technical challenges make it a must for any golfer visiting Jamaica.
