Heritage & Tradition
Known by the nickname “Carnage”, this course is renowned as the most difficult ever used for the Open Championship. Originally designed by the legendary Old Tom Morris, then expanded by James Braid, it offers an intense technical challenge to experienced golfers. Its fast, perfectly maintained greens demand precision and control.
Carnoustie Championship hosted the 147th Open, won in 2018 by Francesco Molinari. The course is also famous for the dramatic anecdote of Jean Van de Velde in 1999, who lost a 3-shot advantage on the last hole, illustrating the legendary rigor of this course.
