A characterful journey at the gates of Belfast

Located on the outskirts of Belfast, just minutes from the charming seaside resort of Bangor, the Bangor Golf Club has been offering a great playing experience for over a century. Founded in 1903, it was transformed into an 18-hole course in the 1930s by James Braid, one of the greatest British golf architects. Recent work has made it possible to modernize its facilities while retaining its traditional character.

Tamarina — Panoramic view of the course

The journey & its history

This Parkland style course is distinguished by its elevated tees, narrow fairways and finely placed bunkers, requiring thoughtful and precise play. It has been the scene of many major Irish championships. One of the highlights of its history remains the professional record established by Christy O'Connor Sr in 1962: an exceptional card of 62 with 9 birdies, an eagle and no bogey.
