The route in detail
The main course of the club is called Garðavöllur, or, Akranes Golf Course. It was expanded in 2000 to become an 18-hole course. Garðavöllur is located on the outskirts of Akranes and extends over a rather flat terrain with rocky hills, bodies of water, bunkers and varied vegetation. This mix of natural elements gives the course a configuration that is both technical and entertaining, which has hosted many major national tournaments.
Known for its in-play bunkers, well-maintained greens and varied challenges, Garðavöllur is often considered one of the best championship courses in Iceland. It is regularly among the top courses in the country and attracts local golfers and visitors looking for a complete challenge.

Infrastructure & Services
The club also has practice facilities and a serviced clubhouse, and it regularly organizes competitions and events, including stops on the Icelandic Junior Tour.
